Welcome to Day 5! Our assignment today is to brainstorm as many meal ideas as possible.

1st… Make your Favorite Meal or Recipe List.

Just as quickly as you can, make a list of your family’s favorite meals or your favorite recipes. Don’t worry if you have the right ingredients, just start writing things down. Make it a family activity if you’re kids are old enough. Keep writing until you can’t think of any more.

2nd… Match Up Your Favorite Meals/Recipes with Your Inventory.

Next read your freezer, refrigerator, and pantry inventory lists then try to match up a potential dish with each food item. For example if canned corn is on your list you could write down “corn chowder” or “corn casserole”. If you can’t think of something for a particular item skip it and come back to it. For items that are ready like soup just write down “soup.”
